Mr. Balkrishna Acharya, born on 12th January 1938, hails from the Junagadh district of Gujarat. He pursued his primary to collegiate education locally and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Bahauddin College in 1959, followed by a Bachelor of Laws from AMP Law College, Rajkot, in 1961. After obtaining his Sanad from the Bar Council of Gujarat in 1962, he chose to dedicate himself fully to the legal profession.
Known for his humility, Acharya often refers to himself as a “Jack of all, master of none.” However, nature has endowed him with a multitude of talents across various domains—be it indoor and outdoor sports, essay writing, elocution, vocal music, or cultural activities. Throughout his academic journey, he actively participated and represented his institutions in these fields, achieving recognition at college and inter-college levels.
Beyond his legal pursuits, he has contributed scholarly articles and participated in national conferences in India. Select articles authored by him have been thoughtfully compiled in this volume.
Now in his 88th year, Mr. Acharya continues to engage in a limited legal practice, devoting much of his time to spiritual pursuits and the study of law—reflecting a life steeped in learning, service, and introspection.
